We are looking to hire an Accounting Technician for an entry level position that will evolve into a job that entails the following outline of responsibilities:
Code approved payables to appropriate location and G/L account
Enter payables into the accounting system, monitor due dates, billing discrepancies, discount opportunities, credits due, etc.
Verify ACH/drafts and reconcile against bank ledger daily
Maintain vendor files, including federal tax id #, contact info, certificates of insurance, etc.
Prepare checks for mailing, notify autopay vendors, maintain file for paper copies
Remote deposit of checks received at home office
Verify auto payments received and reconcile against bank ledger daily
Post payments to tenant ledgers
Monitor deposits made at other locations, reconcile daily
Notify property manager, lease administrator, and/or location manager of any payment discrepancies
Process returned checks and notify property/location manager
Assist with month-end procedures as needed
Update spreadsheets used for importing monthly recurring journal entries
Process 1099s and assist with other year-end procedures as needed
Maintain spreadsheets used for tracking property tax expense/valuations and property insurance
Shared phone duty
Mail (incoming/outgoing) – distribute to staff
Order/replenish office supplies
Ensure all office equipment is in good working order
Filing and organization
Skills and Qualifications:
Attention to detail, thoroughness, and organization
Strong analytical, data entry (10-key number pad) and math skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Excel, Word and basic computer operations
Prefer minimum two-year college degree and/or two years of accounting experience
Salary and Benefits:
